As President/CEO, Elyssa Linares manages the operations and strategic direction of Communities In Schools of Miami. Always on the move, Elyssa collaborates with
school districts, community partners and staff to ensure that CIS meets its mission and continues to provide quality and effective services in Miami to over 15,000
students each year.
Elyssa came to Communities In Schools of Miami eight years ago working as a Site Coordinator ensuring that pregnant teens and teen moms had the tools they needed
to achieve in life. Her field operation experience has made her passionate about ensuring that CIS of Miami does whatever it takes to ensure that students are
succeeding. "I am dedicated to a vision where all children discover their own greatness and build on their strengths, optimizing their own unique brand of
excellence and becoming productive, fulfilled members of our community."
She brings a wealth of experience in partnership development, program development, grant management, building and supervising effective teams, and mentoring.
She extends this experience to mentoring others and conducting local and national workshops on these topics.
On a personal note, she has an Executive Masters in Public Administration from Florida International University, a Bachelor's from the University of Central Florida,
and completed the Executive Leadership Development Program from NYU & CIS National. Beyond working for a meaningful cause, Elyssa loves to read, crochet,
travel, and spend time with her family.
